Freeman ColiseumThe Freeman Coliseum reads like an entertainment timeline for the city of San Antonio since it first opened in 1949. Famous concert acts have played at the arena through the decades, like Elvis Presley, KISS, Rod Stewart, Run DMC, Greenday and No Doubt.

With its 11,700 seating capacity, the coliseum is best known for hosting the San Antonio Livestock Show & Rodeo each year. Recently, the much-larger AT&T Center was built next door where the rodeo now takes place, but the Freeman Coliseum continues to host the stock show and exhibits associated with the annual event.

As the city's premier coliseum, the Freeman building is the go-to location for shows and other occasions that benefit from a small-town feel. Popular happenings include the Shrine Circus, high-school graduations, boxing and WWF wrestling events.

Recent improvements to the Freeman Coliseum's floors enable it to create ice-on-demand for Central Hockey League play.
